Believe it or not Kazakhstan used to be part of the Soviet Union. In fact most buildings in the country are leftover from the USSR's era. Going farther back most people live in the steppe are related to Kazakh nomads. Many years ago people would hunt with eagles and live in huts made of animal skins as they traveled around witht their livestock.
